Brandon was present on the East side Capitol steps (opposite the West side where the violence synonymous with that day occurred) for EIGHT MINUTES filming the scene he was witnessing: a large group of people attempting to make their way toward two large metal doors, which were wide open. The crowd Straka witnessed was not “rioting” or engaging in destruction, as had happened earlier on the opposite side of the Capitol building.

On January 25th, 2021, the FBI raided Brandon Straka’s home, presented him with a warrant for his arrest and to search and seize his property. He was taken to jail in handcuffs and spent 2 days in 24 hour lockdown inside a small concrete cell. When released, he learned the government had charged him with 2 felony charges and 1 misdemeanor charge. This began a year long nightmare of relentless, endless harassment and abuse from the federal government, media, and Big Tech.
