A number of prominent Republicans have been critical of Biden's executive order on the border, with Texas Rep. Chip Roy urging Americans not to be "deceived" by the move, which he deemed to be "nothing more than a political stunt."
It has been revealed that over 100,000 illegal immigrants were let across the US-Mexico border in June, the same month Joe Biden announced that he had enacted a "crackdown" on illegal border crossings. Additionally, Department of Homeland Security documents obtained by the New York Post showed that despite the president's promise to prevent those who make their way into the country between ports of entry from claiming asylum, around 30,000 still managed to do so.
